Griffin WR chooses Illinois

Prince Geen received a scholarship offer from Illinois during late January.

A few months later, the Griffin (GA) wide receiver announced a verbal commitment to the Illini on Sunday.

“I feel Illinois is a great program with a lot of tradition, a great coaching staff and an amazing fan base,” he said. “They really recruited me hard and made me feel like if I work hard I have an opportunity to contribute right away. I think my game can grow there and that I can get a degree from a prestigious university and develop my game there and achieve one of my ultimate goals of playing professionally.”

Green became just the second 2021 prospect to join the Big Ten program which added dual threat quarterback Samari Collier from DeSoto (TX) this past December.

The incoming senior received offers last month from Eastern Kentucky, Southern Illinois, Liberty, Western Kentucky and Coastal Carolina.

He also holds South Alabama, Kansas, Troy, Akron, Minnesota and Kentucky and took visits to Alabama, Georgia and Georgia Tech in the Fall.
