Indianapolis area LB talks latest recruiting

Quinton Cannon saw an increase with the amount of attention received by MAC schools at the start of the new year.

During January, the Cathedral (Indianapolis, IN) linebacker was on-campus for Miami’s (OH) junior day and landed an Eastern Michigan scholarship offer.

Cannon went on to make a visit to see the Eagles in early February and landed Bowling Green and Western Michigan offers later that month along with a trip to Northern Illinois.

“NIU has a new coaching staff and they were also the MAC champs,” he said. “Eastern had a very great coaching staff and they have a lot of upside. They’re a program on the rise. Western Michigan asked me to come out and visit the campus so that is one on my go to list. Bowling Green and Central Michigan are also on my visit list.”

Since then, the 2020 prospect added an offer from Navy as well as making a Purdue visit last weekend and Cincinnati earlier in the week.

“It was really great,” he said of the Boilermakers. “I enjoyed the campus and the coaches there. I paid another visit to Cincinnati and got the chance to workout with their coaching staff and it was great.”

The Bearcats previously hosted Cannon this past November.

He also spent time during the Fall at Michigan State and Duke and holds offers from Ball State and Central Michigan.
