In today’s era of football, flashiness seems to prevail while the hardworking lineman go unnoticed.
However, guys like Michael Jubran deserve to be in the spotlight.
The 6’0″ and 270-pound center/interior lineman from The Bolles School (Jacksonville, FL) takes pride in his work on and off the field.
Jubran currently has offers from Jacksonville, Delta State, Southwestern, Carleton College, Birmingham-Southern and Centre College.
On the field, Michael is a mauler.
Blue 57 scout Kevin Hemmings says Jubran is a “strong interior lineman with a great first punch. He wants to and can put his man on the ground on every play. He wins with good leverage and plays through the whistle.”
Michael described his own play to much of the same degree, “Tough-nosed, I’m going to go after you every play and make you not want to play football again. I try to bury them in the dirt, and then bury them again the next play.”
Though he is a beast on the field, Jubran is a great student-athlete, teammate, brother and son.
He pushes himself in class and in the weight room and works out with another senior on the team Pearson Toomey, a recent Furman commit.
On top of training with Toomey, he also mentors and helps younger players on the team in the weight room as well.
When asked what his biggest motivation, his answer was clear cut and passionate, “Jesus Christ is my biggest motivation. I’ve grown up in the church since I was a child. Everything we do in our lives, we really want to try and use Jesus Christ as our example in how to live life. We should do this to become better men of God and better men in general.”
Blue 57 sports psychologist Kaela Harman was impressed with Jubran too, “Polite and humble personality off the field, Bulldog persistence on the field. Michael flips his switch when the game starts, then will hug his opponent after the game.”
Harman added “Michael gives credit to friends and family for helping him get to where he is in life currently. He has a good relationship with his family and is very supportive of his friends/teammates. His strong support system & values gives him confidence and allows him to be a committed student athlete.”
Overall, Jubran is an all-around great person, student, and athlete. His leadership on and off the field are shown in his walk of life and any team would be lucky to have a guy like this in their locker room.
