Orlando area DL talks ACC commitment

Virginia Tech added a scheme diverse lineman to their defense following Norell Pollard’s verbal commitment on Monday.

The Hokies, who are known for multiple looks engineered by defensive coordinator Bud Foster, will be provided with position flexibility from the Wekiva (Apopka, FL) prospect.

Pollard spoke of his decision to join the Virginia Tech program and the impression that the coaching staff has made.

“They showed so much love and made me feel right at home,” he said. “I also feel like I’ll fit perfectly in coach foster’s defense.”

Nearly two weeks ago, Pollard took a visit to Blacksburg after revealing his top 8 schools last month, which also included Rutgers, Duke, West Virginia, Indiana, Louisville, NC State and in-state UCF.

The Hokies had offered a scholarship the previous day while Rutgers, Duke, West, Virginia and Louisville all extended ones of their own earlier in the month.

Pitt and USF most recently offered during late May.

Pollard also holds offers from Miami (FL), Maryland, Toledo, Florida, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Texas State, Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Mercer, UAB, Bowling Green and FAU.
