Larry Smith has two schools in mind.
On Thursday, the Norland (Miami, FL) linebacker narrowed his list of college programs to in-state USF and out of state UAB.
Smith received a scholarship offer from the Bulls last month along with the Blazers this past April.
“The coaching staffs make me feel at home,” he said. “Colleges have over looked me because of my height. It’s cool though.”
The 2019 prospect considered other schools as well including Keiser, Delaware State, Georgetown, Syracuse, Cheyney, Alcorn State, Jackson State and Arkansas State, who all extended offers of their own.
Smith also made an unofficial visit to FAU in late March and was on campus at Miami (FL) last Fall with trips to Georgia State, Georgia and Florida during the Summer.
EVALUATION
Simply put, the incoming senior is one of the more underrated linebackers in the state of Florida.
What jumps out most when looking at the tape is Smith’s ability to be a complete presence on the defensive side of the football.
Displays ideal instincts tracking down ball carriers and makes quick decisions out on the field.
Provides physicality to the position but can also drop into coverage in both zone and man to man scenarios.
