Prudy Calderon took an unofficial visit to campus over the weekend following a preferred walk-on offer from Texas earlier this month.
The San Marcos (San Marcos, TX) athlete shared his impressions of the trip to Austin.
“It was great!” he said. “A lot more than what I expected. Everybody has that tradition and pride built in them, and it seems like one big family.”
Prior to the PWO offer from the Longhorns on October 9, Calderon made a verbal commitment to Rice.
The 2018 prospect remains committed to the Owls and also holds scholarship offers from Army, Yale, Brown, San Diego, Columbia, Eastern Illinois, Texas State, Holy Cross, Houston Baptist, Jacksonville and Penn.
Earlier this year, he spent time at both The Nike Opening Houston Regionals and the U.S. Army National Combine.
