Less than a week after announcing a decommitment from West Virginia, TJ Ivy revealed his future school.
The Marist (Chicago, IL) tight end, who named Indiana in his Top 4 schools this past May, extended a verbal commitment to the Hoosiers on Monday.
“Basically, IU was a top school before hand and always has been,” he said. “And I love the offense.”
Ivy made an unofficial visit to the Big Ten program’s campus last February and plans on making a return trip to Bloomington during this current season.
“The campus is beautiful,” he said. “Great feel and I will get down to a home game.”
The 2018 prospect’s final list of schools had also originally included in-state Illinois along with Iowa prior to a commitment to the Mountaineers in late-June.
Last Thursday, Ivy shared his change of plans:
Now the senior is looking towards preparation for the IHSA State Playoffs with a Class 8A first round match-up against West Suburban Silver Conference opponent Oak Park-River Forest (5-4).
Marist (9-0) is coming off a 48-7 win over Nazareth (8-1) to claim the East Suburban Catholic League championship.
“I feel really strong about my commitment and have a great relationship with the coaches.”
