Louis Smith currently has Auburn at the top of his list of future colleges.
With unofficial campus visits during the off-season, and this past weekend, the D’Iberville (Biloxi, MS) offensive lineman shared his impressions of the Tigers after their 24-10 win over Mercer.
“Right now they are No. 1,” he said. “It’s a special place with great coaches and a family atmosphere. Class Act! Felt like they really want me to be part of their team and family.”
Smith also had conversations with offensive line coach Herb Hand as well as offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey.
“Coach Hand and coach Lindsey took time to speak to me and my family,” he recalled. “It was an awesome game experience!”
The 2019 prospect has plans to make a return trip when Auburn hosts Mississippi State, which extended an offer to the in-state interior lineman.
Later this Fall, Smith is looking at a plethora of campus visits from a variety of FBS conferences.
“Ole Miss, Southern Miss and South Carolina,” he said. “Also, Illinois and Duke are in the future as well.”
During the off-season, the junior spent time on campus at Vanderbilt, Georgia and Tulane with scholarship offers from Kentucky Christian, ULM, Nicholls State, Southern Miss and Troy.
