Tight end Lee Payton shares recent recruiting experience

Regarded as one of the Midwest’s elite tight ends, Lee Payton continues to receive interest within his home state.

The River Rouge (River Rouge, MI) 2018 prospect landed a scholarship offer from Western Michigan just over a week ago and reflected on the Broncos’ football program, along with his most recent unofficial visit to Michigan.

“Everything seems to be coming into place for Western Michigan,” he said. “And my visit to Michigan was a great and awesome experience. They are all good people. The coaching staff keeps it real with you and explains everything well.”

Prior to last month’s trip to Ann Arbor, Payton made his third unofficial to rival Michigan State in late-January.

Eastern Michigan offered during the last week of May with Central Michigan hosting a pair of unofficial visit in mid-March.

As far as programs outside the state, the tight end made unofficials to Maryland, Toledo, Howard, Hampton and Ohio State.

He also holds offers from Bowling Green, Buffalo, Florida, Syracuse and Toledo.
