Heading into the new year, Sevyn Banks held scholarship offers from Maryland, Bowling Green and Syracuse.
However, since early January, the Jones (Orlando, FL) defensive back is now up to 15 following Saturday’s offer from LSU.
Banks shared his early impressions of the football program as well as former NFL cornerback Corey Raymond, who has coached the Tigers’ secondary since 2012, was a three-year starter in the defensive backfield from 1988-1991, and went on to spend six seasons with the New York Giants (1992-1994) and Detroit Lions (1995-1997).
“I’ve talked to Coach Corey [Raymond] and he is real cool,” said the 2018 prospect. “I think LSU is a great place, just gotta get up there for a visit.”
Last weekend, Banks attended Florida State’s Junior Day, where the Seminoles extended an offer of their own.
“I feel good with the coaches,” he said. “And I like the campus.”
The defensive back recently attended Florida’s Junior Day as well in mid-February after receiving an offer from the Gators on January 19.
This was followed by offers from Auburn, South Carolina, Virginia Tech, Indiana, UCF and Ohio State throughout late January.
Banks also holds offers from Kentucky, Buffalo and FIU.
