Defensive back Rayshad Williams names SEC program as No. 1 school

Following a trip to Knoxville on Saturday, Rayshad Williams shared impressions of the Tennessee football program.

When comparing the Volunteers to other scholarship offers, the Whitehaven (Memphis, TN) defensive back currently has them at the top of his list of schools.

“I got to say No. 1.”

This weekend’s Junior Day was the first for Williams since attending Mississippi State’s in mid-March.

“Really, everything was a highlight for me,” he said. “The facilities, and definitely seeing Neyland Stadium was great, but the coaching staff was awesome, and they really fit me I believe. Also, the football program and fan base is just amazing, and is really like no other. It was great.”

As far as his next visits go, Williams plans to travel to Vanderbilt, Virginia and Virginia Tech, who all extended offers during February.

The 2018 prospect made an unofficial visit to Alabama in late November and also holds offers from Arkansas, Memphis and Ole Miss.
