Illinois lands 2017 wide receiver out of Miami Central

Nearly two weeks after a verbal commitment from St. Louis University High School’s Tony Adams, Illinois inherited another 2017 prospect for the perimeter of the offense.

Miami Central (Miami, FL) wide receiver Carmoni Green announced his own commitment to the Fighting Illini on Thursday.

Prior to receiving a scholarship offer from Illinois on April 4, Green drew offers during the off-season from Oregon State (Jan. 15), FIU (Jan. 15), FAU (Jan. 28) and Appalachian State (March 16) while eventually adding offers from Bowling Green (April 27), UCF (May 3) and USF (June 26).

He also took unofficial visits to Texas (April 1) and LSU (April 2) with an appearance at Florida State’s junior day (Feb. 20)

The incoming senior displays an exceptional burst off the line of scrimmage and tracks the ball naturally when both covered and separated. Hauls in the football at its highest point and can create clean releases off press coverage. Has the quickness to play in the slot and the dynamic presence to compete outside.
