The presence of South Beach was felt in the recruiting world with Miami receiving commitments from a trio of defenders in each level of the defense for the class of 2017.
Columbus (Miami, FL) defensive back Trajan Bandy, Sandalwood (Jacksonville, FL) linebacker Bradley Jennings Jr. and Lake Worth (Lake Worth, FL) defensive end Jonathan Garvin, all pledged verbal agreements to the Hurricanes on Monday.
Jennings Jr. provided a few thoughts on his decision to commit to Miami, as well as other programs that have offered him a scholarship, which includes Duke, FIU, Florida State, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, Toledo, Troy, UAB, UCF, USF and West Virginia.
What were the factors which made Miami the right fit for you? Just education and a great football program.
What are your expectations for your upcoming high school season? To win a state title.
Do you plan on visiting Miami or any other schools that have offered you? Yes. I haven’t set anything up yet.
Since June 2, Bandy had visited Coral Gables, FL three times in June, once in July and twice in August, including the day after Monday’s commitment. He currently holds 36 scholarship offers with programs from the SEC, ACC, Big 12, Big 10, Pac 12 and AAC.
