Michigan State preferred walk-on talks commitment

Kobe Myers announced his future college on Monday.

And when it came to the decision to choose Michigan State as a preferred walk-on, the 2020 prospect pointed towards an established relationship with the Spartans’ staff.

Specifically, safeties coach Mike Tressel and executive director of player personnel and recruiting Sheldon White.

“For me it was the vibe that I got and how coach Tressel interacted with me,” Myers said. “We were talking every other week and if I wasn’t talking to him I was talking to coach Sheldon White. So it was the vibe. It all just felt right. And I felt like I could trust MSU coaches. I could trust them as men and I could trust their word.”

The athlete also had interest from another Big Ten program with an Iowa scholarship offer.

Other offers came from Ball State, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Howard, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Syracuse, Western Michigan and Youngstown State.
