North Carolina commit shutdowns recruiting

LaMareon James made his first visit to North Carolina in June.

During that time in Chapel Hill, the Indian River (Chesapeake, VA) athlete received a scholarship offer from the Tar Hills.

James got back on campus over the last few weeks with a trip in late February and another this past weekend.

Following the most recent visit, the 2020 prospect revealed a verbal commitment to the ACC program.

“My family and I felt like it was home for me,” he said. “I committed early because UNC showed the most interest in my recruitment and I also have a great relationship with coach Dre Bly.”

James confirmed the recruiting process is now shutdown as he remains to hold offers from Auburn, East Carolina, Liberty, Maryland, Michigan, Morgan State, Nebraska, Pitt, Rutgers, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

The junior was at Liberty earlier this month as well as Virginia Tech for the Hokies home game against Notre Dame in October.

He is the seventh prospect to commit to UNC for the 2020 recruiting cycle.
