Greensboro WR takes in-state visit to NC State

Jalen Smith’s latest stop during his ACC tour came on Saturday at NC State.

The Southern Guilford (Greensboro, NC) wide receiver spent time on campus for the Wolfpack’s junior day.

“My visit was good,” he said. “I liked the environment and the hospitality all the coaches were giving. They talked about NC State’s achievements and processes they do.”

At the start of the new year, Smith began a schedule of recruiting trips within the conference.

The 2021 prospect was at this past season’s National Champion Clemson followed by Georgia Tech later last month, and came away with some advice.

“I didn’t get to meet the head coaches on those trips,” he said of the Tigers’ Dabo Swinney and the Yellow Jackets’ Geoff Collins. “But what stood out the most was the recruiting tips they gave me.”

As for Smith’s next ACC visit, don’t be surprised if the incoming 6’0″ 175-pound junior finds himself in Blacksburg soon after having a phone conversation with Virginia Tech defensive line coach Charley Wiles.

“He invited me out to come on an unofficial visit to one of their spring practices or spring game and said, ‘we’ll be keeping an eye on you during your junior year’.”
