Since receiving a pair of scholarship offers from UMass and Liberty during mid-December, an all-state prospect from Georgia has been narrowing his list of potential colleges.
Over the next few weeks, Brian Merritt is planning to be on campus at a variety of programs to start out the new year.
The Colquitt County (GA) defensive lineman will be likely spending time at UAB, South Alabama and Southern Illinois.
“They just asked me to come up on an official,” he said. “UAB is hitting pretty hard.”
And the Blazers have been a target of Merritt’s after announcing them as a part of the top seven this past July.
The revealed list also included Middle Tennessee State, Pitt, Georgia State, Tulane and West Virginia, which all extended scholarship offers to the class of 2019 prospect.
Merritt also holds offers from Campbell, Florida A&M, Gardner-Webb, Jackson State, Marshall, North Texas, Temple, Tennessee State and Texas Tech.
