Another DB commit for Oklahoma

Oklahoma received its second verbal commitment in the secondary this week.

On Wednesday, Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) cornerback Darion Green-Warren became the first defensive back of the 2020 class.

On Friday, it was Oakland (Murfreesboro, TN) cornerback Woodi Washington becoming the second from the 2019 class to extend a verbal to the Sooners.

The incoming senior reflected on the factors that went into his decision.

“My relationship with [defensive backs] coach [Kerry] Cooks,” he said. “And the [Big 12] conference throws the ball a lot so it’s good for DB’s.”

Washington received Oklahoma’s scholarship offer in early January and most recently made trips to Ohio State, Florida State and Alabama last month.

During the Spring, he visited Tallahassee, Notre Dame, Louisville and in-state Tennessee following time on-campus at Arkansas and Ole Miss earlier in the year.

Washington holds offers from all of those schools as well as Florida, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.
