Iowa added it’s first Class of 2020 verbal commitment on Friday.
And for Deuce Hogan, his college decision didn’t come down to just one factor, it was a variety of reasons.
From the coaching staff to the Hawkeyes’ offensive scheme, the Faith Christian (Grapevine, TX) quarterback found a fit.
“The people, coach Ferentz and coach O’Keefe were both incredible and you could tell that they really love their players,” he said. “Secondly was the offense. It’s a true pro-style and it translates to the next level. Lastly was probably the number of guys they send to the league and with that being the ultimate goal, it all just was right.”
Hogan made an unofficial visit to Iowa City last month during a tour of campus trips which also included in-state rival Iowa State along with Baylor, Tulsa and Oklahoma State.
The incoming junior received a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes in early May and holds ones from the Bears, Golden Hurricane, Cowboys, Cyclones, Houston, Syracuse, Colorado, Boston College and Louisiana Tech.
