California DB describes LSU as ‘historic’

A Sacramento area prospect is receiving more SEC interest.

On Monday, LSU became the next school from the conference to extend a scholarship offer to Isaiah Rutherford.

The Jesuit (Carmichael, CA) defensive back already holds Missouri, Tennessee and Alabama offers, and spoke of both the football team and coaching staff in Baton Rouge.

“The program is a historic program,” he said of the Tigers. “They put guys in the NFL. The coaches are super personable.”

Rutherford spent time on campus in Tuscaloosa during April following a visit to Oklahoma.

The 2019 prospect went on to make a trip to Cal and add an Illinois offer later that month.

He visited rivals Oregon and Oregon State in March and also holds offers from the Ducks and the Beavers along with Arizona, Purdue, Nevada, Nebraska, Cal, Washington State, Southern Cal, Utah, Notre Dame, Fresno State, Colorado and San Diego State.
