Since receiving a scholarship offer from Notre Dame in late January, interest towards the Fighting Irish appears to be growing for Oakland (Murfreesboro, TN) cornerback Woodi Washington.

Last weekend, the 2019 prospect took an unofficial visit to South Bend for the annual Spring game.

“It went great,” he said. “The program is great. I love the tradition.”

Washington has no short term plans for more college trips or camps but was at a variety of campuses over the last few months.

The defensive back made unofficial visits to Florida State and in-state Tennessee during March as well as Arkansas, Ole Miss and a previous trip to Knoxville this past February.

Purdue extended an offer less than a week ago adding to Washington’s list of schools.

He also holds offers from the Seminoles, Volunteers, Razorbacks, Rebels, Alabama, Florida, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Mississippi, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Virginia and UNC.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
