TCU lands in-state athlete Taye Barber

This past January, TCU extended a scholarship offer to Taye Barber.

On Sunday, the Cy Springs (Cypress, TX) wide receiver/cornerback returned the favor with a verbal commitment to the Horned Frogs.

“It’s just something about TCU that I can’t get off my mind,” he said. “I felt like if I went to another school I wouldn’t feel right. I have a great relationship with the coaching staff and I just see myself fitting in perfectly.”

Barber had most recently made an unofficial visit to Fort Worth earlier this month as well as fellow Big 12 Conference member Iowa State.

Last month, the 2018 prospect revealed his top 12 programs which included TCU, the Cyclones, Arizona, Clemson, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Stanford, Tennessee, Utah and West Virginia.

During May, Barber developed into one of the most underrated talents in the 2018 recruiting class after receiving scholarship offers from Clemson, Stanford, Brown, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Arizona State, West Virginia and Columbia.
