Trio of Carterville teammates take in-state trip to Champaign

Luke Ford’s recruiting tour made a return to the Big Ten with an unofficial visit to Illinois.

Last weekend, the Carterville (Carterville, IL) tight end/wide receiver was on Michigan’s campus.

On Friday, Ford was joined by teammates Justin Johnson (WR/DB) and Christian Rawlinson (QB).

“It was amazing, ” said the 2018 prospect.

Rawlinson concurred.

“[Head coach] Lovie Smith is just a stand up guy,” he said. “The coaching staff was amazing and it felt like home.”

Johnson, who lines up opposite Ford on the offensive side of the ball, shared his expectations for the upcoming Fall season.

“I expect us to be really good, he said. “We have a lot of talent and skill this year, so I have high hopes for it.”

Rawlinson provides a dual threat presence running the offense.

“I think we’re going to be very solid,” he said. “We have Luke at wideout obviously, Justin at another, and several other offensive weapons. Our defense is going to have a solid front seven.”
