Ford heading to Ann Arbor for next visit

Luke Ford has found himself engulfed with recent campus trips including Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Texas.

This weekend, the Carterville (Carterville, IL) tight end makes an unofficial visit to Michigan.

The Wolverines currently have offers extended to 11 tight ends from the 2018 recruiting class with Jeremy Ruckert recently committing to Ohio State, Brevin Jordan and Will Mallory to Miami (FL), Zack Kuntz to Penn State, Zach Sheffer to LSU as well as Trenton Gillison to Michigan State.

That currently leaves uncommitted prospects Ford, Mustapha Muhammad, Malcolm Epps, Leonard Taylor and Michael Ezeike.

Ford received his offer from Michigan after announcing a decommitment from Arkansas two days prior.

Since opting to change the decision on the verbal commitment to the Razorbacks, the incoming senior has gone on to land offers from Baylor, Oregon, Auburn, Cal, Texas, Missouri and Tennessee, who offered on Monday.

EVALUATION

Arguably one of the country’s most highly regarded tight ends and displays traits which create a mismatch for opposing secondaries.

Ford refuses to be pressed at the line of scrimmage by countering with both clean and physical releases.

At 6’7″ and 250 pounds, he’s simply too fast and polished of a route runner for linebackers, and provides too much size for defensive backs.
