Growing up in the state of Georgia, Kyle Mann has always considered the Bulldogs as his number one team.
And over the last few months, the Douglas County (Douglasville, GA) defensive lineman lived out on-campus experiences with a pair of unofficial visits to Athens during April, and another in mid-March.
“When I got the opportunity to keep on going on unofficial visits, the biggest thing for me was making a connection with the coaching staff.”
In early April, Mann made a few more SEC unofficial visits with trips to Tennessee and South Carolina.
“My visit to Tennessee was different,” he said. “It was one of the best visits I’ve had in a very, very long time. It was just a different feeling from the time I walked out. At South Carolina, we were at the spring game that day. What stood out to me was the fan base.”
The 2020 prospect took his first SEC unofficial visit to Alabama in January which was followed by a visit to Georgia Tech that same month.
“What stood out to me on my Alabama visit was the tradition that they have in Tuscaloosa.”
Offers from USF and Kansas followed during February along with a trip to Auburn’s Junior Day in early March.
Mann most recently landed a scholarship offer from SMU on Monday.
“Right now I’m focusing on trying to get better,” he said. “I want to help win some games for my team.”
Blessed to have received my 3rd scholarship offer from the school program my uncle played for in 1984 to 1988 SMU 🐴🔵🔴 #PonyUpTempo pic.twitter.com/EVxfbMLul5
