Since receiving his 13th scholarship offer from Tennessee last month, Austin Stogner had gone on to land a few more from SEC programs Florida and LSU, along with traditional independent, Notre Dame.
On Tuesday, the Prestonwood Christian (Plano, TX) tight end received his second Big Ten offer from Michigan, and shared impressions of the university and the Wolverines’ head coach.
“That is a big time school,” he said. “No one uses the tight ends like Jim Harbaugh.”
Stogner plans to make a visit to Ann Arbor and holds the other Big Ten offer from Nebraska, which he made a visit to see prior to the Cornhuskers’ Red/White Spring Game last month.
The 2019 prospect’s most recent offer came from LSU last Wednesday.
“Awesome football program and coaching staff,” he said of the Tigers. “Going to see how they use the tight end this Fall.”
Stogner was named MVP for his position group of Nike Football’s The Opening Regionals Houston in early February.
During an unofficial visit to Texas A&M on March 31, he landed his first SEC offer
Two days prior, Stogner received his fourth Big 12 offer (Baylor, Oklahoma State, TCU) while on a visit to Oklahoma.
Earlier that week, Florida State extended the junior to be with his second ACC offer (Duke).
