It’s now five scholarships over the last three days for Israel Mukuamu following offers from SMU, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss, Purdue and Indiana.
Earlier this month, the Parkway (Bossier City, LA) defensive back had received an offer from Tulane.
Mukuamu shared his impressions of Purdue and co-defensive coordinator/secondary coach Anthony Poindexter along with cornerbacks coach Derrick Jackson after a visit to West Lafayette on Saturday.
This tandem is in their first season with the Boilermakers.
Poindexter spent the previous three years as UConn’s defensive coordinators while Jackson had been at Wake Forest coaching a variety of defensive positions for five seasons.
“I only met with them,” said the 2018 prospect. “Very great people. They are looking to turn the program around. Their facilities are getting rebuilt, so I looked at what they had for the previous years.”
Mukuamu recently attended Oklahoma State’s Junior Day in late-February as well.
“The program is a great program,” he said of the Cowboys. “They have been winning a lot the past years. And the coaching staff is amazing. When I went up there, I really felt comfortable with them. They are great people.”
The safety also holds scholarship offers from Charlotte, Coastal Carolina and South Carolina.
