What began with an unofficial visit to Iowa this past November led to a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes less than a week later for Tyrik Henderson.
This upcoming weekend, the Glenbard North (Carol Stream, IL) defensive back makes a return trip to Iowa City.
“I really love the culture of the Hawkeyes and the coaching staff has always been there for me,” he said. “I love Iowa.”
On Saturday, Henderson received a scholarship offer from the other half of the Floyd of Rosedale rivalry during an unofficial visit to Minnesota.
“Second to none,” he said of the Golden Gophers. “The coaching staff is amazing from top to bottom. The trip was fantastic. The high intensity practice was phenomenal and the little meetings with different coaches was amazing. They definitely are in the mix.”
Earlier this month, the 2018 prospect made an unofficial visit to a Big Ten rival to both Minnesota and the Hawkeyes with a trip to Wisconsin, along with another to Michigan State during late-February.
Henderson had previously made unofficial visits to East Lansing last August and September.
