Wide receiver Jake Bobo talks Duke commitment

When it came to announcing a verbal commitment to Duke last weekend, Jake Bobo pointed to a number of factors, including elite academic standards, competing in the ACC and the student life.

“I think Duke is a special place because it offers such a high level education and the ability to play Power 5 football in the ACC,” he said. “I really liked the campus.”

But what may have stood out even more for the Belmont Hill School (Belmont, MA) wide receiver was establishing a foundation of relationships within the football program.

“Definitely hanging out with some of the guys and getting to know the culture.”

Bobo had attended the Blue Devils’ Junior Day earlier this month following a scholarship offer in late October.

The 2018 prospect took an unofficial visit to Durham this past June and holds offers from Army, Boston College, Dartmouth, Elon, Harvard, UMass, Rhode Island, Wake Forest and Yale.

This past off-season, Bobo made unofficial visits to Boston College and Stanford, with a trip to Wake Forest during mid-February.

“I’m not really sure,” he said of his plans for a return trip to Duke. “I won’t be taking any more visits as of right now, but I’d love to get back down to campus.”
