Xavier McKinney is now up to 13 scholarship offers – all from Power 5 programs.
And Ohio State became No. 13.
On Sunday, McKinney announced he had received an offer from the Buckeyes, which is his first since West Virginia’s on July 31.
After de-committing from Alabama on July 14, the Roswell (Roswell, GA) defensive back received an offer from Arkansas a week later (July 21) and took a visit to Auburn (July 22) prior to the offer from the Mountaineers.
Beginning this past February, McKinney received offers from Oklahoma (Feb. 9), Florida (Feb. 17), Ole Miss (Feb. 17) and Notre Dame (Feb. 29), with visits to Georgia (Feb. 13 and 18) and Alabama (March 11).
The 2017 prospect is a pure free and strong safety. Displays ball skills in coverage along with the ability to be versatile in nickel situations. McKinney has the traits to come off the edge as well in both pass rush and run support. Also dynamic on special teams in the return game.
