Washington lands in-state tight end commit

Eight days after receiving a scholarship offer from Washington, Cade Otton announced his future college.

The Tumwater (Olympia, WA) tight end and linebacker revealed a verbal commitment to the Huskies on Friday.

Otton received a scholarship offer from Nebraska on Jan. 22 which was followed by a visit to Southern Cal on March 21st, an offer from Idaho three days later, and a visit to Oregon on April 30.

The incoming senior is among the elite of 2017 prospects in the Pacific Northwest considering he was named AP 2A First Team All-State on both offense and defense. In 2015, Otton finished with 26 receptions for 500 yards and 9 touchdowns along with 138 tackles (105 solo), 12 tackles for loss, four sacks and a touchdown.

Tight end appears to be his most natual fit at the next level. Otton provides versatility at the position with an ability to put his hand on the ground and be flexed out at the Y position as well. He also high points the football using natural receiver skills, and moves defensive linemen into the second level as a run blocker.
