St. Louis area 2017 receiver commits to Illinois

Although Tony Adams landed an in-state scholarship offer from the SEC’s Missouri Tigers, the St. Louis University High School  wide receiver opted to verbally commit to the other half of the “Arch Rivalry”, and chose Illinois of the Big Ten.

On Friday, the announcement came from the incoming senior, who also holds scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Illinois State, North Dakota State, South Dakota, Southern Illinois and Wyoming.

Built as a natural weapon in the slot, Adams has the skill set to lineup at multiple positions. With an ability to release naturally in space, and seperate from defensive backs both before, and after the catch, the 2017 prospect can make an impact at the X, W and Z spots.

Reminds us of a zone read running back when carrying the football off jet sweep concepts. Adams brings physicallity to the offense with his background lining up on defense at free safety. He brings a dynamic approach to special teams in the return game as well.
