Enrique Cruz is getting more noticed during the current off-season.
And it’s likely safe to say that he will be among the elite offensive linemen in the West Suburban Gold Conference next Fall.
Following a visit to Iowa last month, the Willowbrook (IL) tackle has now received his first FBS scholarship offer.
This came from an ACC program on Saturday after Syracuse extended one to the 2021 prospect.
The Orangemen currently have one verbal commitment in this recruiting class with offers out to over 20 other offensive tackle prospects as well as over 10 offensive guards.
“I will be taking a trip up to Syracuse once this Covid stuff settles,” he said. “I am looking forward to making their camp for offensive linemen in July. From speaking to coaches [Mike] Lynch and [Mike] Cavanaugh it sounds like they have a great program and want to work with me.”
Expect more FBS interest to develop over the next few months for Cruz including a return to Iowa City for the Hawkeyes’ camp.
“I am planning to attend their camp also,” he said of Iowa. “Just looking to attend any schools that show interest in me. I am ready to play at the next level.”
