Just prior to the Christmas holiday, Kirk Ferentz made a trip to Nazareth Academy.

While at the La Grange Park (IL) catholic high school, the Iowa head coach spent time with the Roadrunners’ Daine Hanson.

The defensive end/tight end was offered a Big Ten scholarship.

“My impressions were very high, especially meeting the head coach of a very well known and successful team with a great past and potential future.”

Later this month, Hanson has a pair of visits lined up on his recruiting schedule.

The 2021 prospect plans to be on campus at Northern Illinois next weekend as well as the Hawkeyes’ in-state Big 12 rival, Iowa State on the 25th.

He also holds an offer from the Cyclones and had taken a visit to Michigan State this past September.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
