Northwestern hosts the state of Illinois’ top recruit

AJ Henning announced his top 10 schools just after the new year.

This weekend, he made his latest visit to one of those programs.

Henning found himself with a local in-state trip by spending time at Northwestern.

Head coach Pat Fitzgerald and the Wildcats coaching staff were the first to offer the Lincoln-Way East (Frankfort, IL) wide receiver/running back a scholarship after extending one in early September of 2017.

He went on to receive offers from Minnesota and Syracuse later that Fall which was followed by Notre Dame, Michigan State, Miami (OH), Iowa, Missouri and Central Michigan during January of 2018.

Henning was previously at in-state Illinois this past January and Purdue last December after the Boilermakers added an October offer.

He made visits to Miami (FL) and Ohio State over the summer along with Michigan during the spring, and holds offers from all three programs.

The Illini, Western Michigan, Penn State, Stanford, Tennessee, Nebraska, Indiana, Duke, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, Boston College, Rutgers, LSU and FAU have all offered the 2020 prospect as well.
