Bryce Gowdy ready for visits

Deerfield Beach may currently be home to Florida’s most underrated prospect.

And his name is Bryce Gowdy.

However, the wide receiver’s reputation continues to grow.

Less than two weeks ago, Gowdy received a scholarship offer from College Football Playoff qualifier Notre Dame.

“When I think of Notre Dame, I think of an elite program with elite coaches that produce elite players,” he said. “I really wanna take a visit but I’m not sure when.”

Currently, the class of 2020 recruit confirmed three other visits in mind: Florida State, Arkansas and Penn State and holds offers with all of these programs.

“Florida State is close to home and I have a good relationship with those coaches,” Gowdy said. “Arkansas is building something special and the Penn State culture is very unique.”

More college interest came the junior’s way this week following in-state offers which included UCF on Tuesday and USF two days later.

Prior to the recent string of offers, Gowdy had landed one from Indiana during late October.

During the summer, Virginia, Western Kentucky and Virginia Tech all added ones of their own following Boston College, Ole Miss and FAU scholarships last Spring.

He also holds offers from Auburn, Purdue, Temple, Louisville, NC State, Florida, Illinois, Pitt, Nebraska, Kentucky, South Carolina, Bowling Green and Syracuse.

Previous campus trips have been at Miami in March and Oklahoma and Nebraska in April, along with Virginia, Florida State and South Carolina in June.

“Underrated by scouts,” Gowdy said. “But the college coaches and fans know what’s up.”
