The program which began recruiting Hakeem Vance since “day one” became the Lewisburg (Olive Branch, MS) athlete’s future school.
Earlier this week, the 2019 prospect revealed a verbal commitment to Baylor after spending time at last weekend’s junior day.
“The love and hospitality that the coaches show is like no other,” he said. “I just feel comfortable with the coaches. Also, they are one of the best academic institutions in the country. I know I’m going to get a great education which is very important to me.”
Vance confirmed the Bears’ coaching staff, who extended a scholarship offer during November, are projecting him to line up at either defensive back or wide receiver.
“I felt like this is an opportunity to be a part of something special that coach [Matt] Rhule and the staff are getting ready to do,” he said. “I just felt good about it.”
This upcoming Spring, Vance has plans to make a return trip to Waco and also holds offers from South Alabama, Austin Peay, Louisiana-Lafeyette, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Central Arkansas.
He made visits to Auburn and Mississippi State nearly a year ago and spent time at Ole Miss in June along with Florida State and Kentucky last Fall.
