Fresh off a trip to South Bend for Notre Dame’s 48-37 win over Wake Forest during early November, Lavon “LV” Bunkley-Shelton made more recruiting news earlier this week.

The Serra (Gardena, CA) athlete received his seventh overall scholarship offer following a visit from members of Arizona’s coaching staff on Thursday.

Wildcats’ sophomore quarterback Khalil Tate, who finished with 1,289 yards passing and 1,353 yards rushing during the college football regular season, is a Serra graduate.

“I feel like they are definitely a team on the rise in the Pac-12,” Bunkley-Shelton said. “I’ve been watching them closely. I guess my first impression of U of AZ is that they are close to home being that they are PAC 12 South. I’ve heard about their legendary ‘Desert Swarm’ defenses of the past but I haven’t really started following them until Khalil started playing.”

Bunkley-Shelton also holds offers within the conference from Oregon and Utah as well as BYU, Nebraska, Nevada and TCU outside of the league.

The 2020 prospect has more college trips in mind including a visit to Tucson and a plethora of other programs.

“My parents and I would like to visit this Spring or Summer,” he said.”Planning to visit Oregon, Utah, BYU and Nebraska. And I’ve visited USC a bunch of times.”
