Earlier this season, Jayden Russell kicked off a tour of Big 12 schools with an unofficial visit to Iowa State for the Cyclones’ 44-41 overtime loss to in-state rival Iowa.
The St. Thomas Aquinas (Lenexa, KS) safety had previously been on-campus in Ames this past July following a scholarship offer during May.
“I love Iowa State!” he said. “They stress how much they want me to lead the 2019 class and the relationship I have with all the coaches.”
This upcoming weekend, Russell makes another trip within the conference when Kansas State hosts Oklahoma on Saturday.
The Wildcats extended an offer of their own to the defensive back last April.
“I like K-State a lot,” he said. “And I have high expectations on the visit.”
Russell has plans to step outside the Big 12 the following weekend when ACC program NC State travels to South Bend.
“I can’t wait to see the tradition from Notre Dame.”
He also spent time during the off-season at Kansas State, Kansas, Toledo and Nebraska.
