Sacramento area DB talks recent offers

During July, Alabama’s coaching staff extended a scholarship offer to Isaiah Rutherford.

Less than a week ago, the Jesuit (Carmichael, CA) defensive back added two more after Colorado and Notre Dame both offered within an hour of one another, on Wednesday.

“I’ve been very surprised by all this,” said Rutherford of the recent recruiting interest. “I’ve been working hard since second grade.”

The 2019 prospect’s first offer came at the Crimson Tide’s camp in Tuscaloosa.

“They told me they like me at cornerback,” he said. “They saw my highlight tape at running back from last year as well.”

Now having the Buffaloes and Fighting Irish into the mix has triggered ideas of more on-campus visits for Rutherford.

“I want to build relationships with these coaches,” he said. “I want to learn more about their academics and football programs.”

More PAC 12 interest has come from Southern Cal, Washington and Oregon State, who Rutherford holds an offer from as well.

The junior took a trip to see the Trojans in late-July and also said he may look into getting on-campus at Washington.
