Former Miami commit talks Oregon scholarship offer

After first establishing recruiting ties as head coach of USF with Warren Thompson, first-year Oregon head coach Willie Taggart has continued to maintain this relationship.

On Saturday, the Ducks extended a scholarship offer to the Armwood (Seffner, FL) wide receiver.

Thompson already landed an offer from the Bulls during an unofficial visit to Tampa in mid-March last off-season.

“I’ve known Coach T since USF,” said the 2018 prospect, who decommitted from Miami on March 29. “They’re building and that’s what I want to see. It’s good to be offered by Oregon!”

Prior to this weekend’s offer, Thompson had most recently received an offer from UCLA on February 1.

He landed offers from LSU, Purdue, Wisconsin and Ole Miss this past September along with Virginia Tech in August, Florida State in July, and Southern Cal and UCF in June.

This past May, South Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, NC State, Mississippi State, Iowa State, Rutgers, Pitt and Penn State all extended offers of their own.

“I plan to visit a lot of out of state schools this offseason,” Thompson said. “Oregon definitely.”
