Following unofficial visits to Notre Dame, Tennessee and Michigan over the last month, Emil Ekiyor announced his college future on Sunday.
The Cathedral (Indianapolis, IN) offensive lineman revealed a commitment to Michigan after visiting Ann Arbor for the Wolverines’ 14-7 Big Ten conference crossover win against Wisconsin this past Saturday.
Ekiyor made the trip to South Bend for the Fighing Irish’s 36-28 loss to Michigan State on Sept. 17, as well as Knoxville for the Volunteers’ SEC opening 38-28 win over divisional rival Florida, on Sept. 24.
This past off-season, the 2018 prospect made unofficial visits to Illinois (Jan. 31), Indiana (Feb. 20), Michigan State (Feb. 28 and April 23), Penn State (March 19 and July 16), Ohio State (March 26), Michigan (April 1), Alabama (April 16), Cal (June 14), Stanford (June 15), Tennessee (June 18) and Florida State (July 22).
He’s also most recently received scholarship offers from Oklahoma (Feb. 15), Michigan State (Feb. 24), Florida State (Feb. 25), Maryland (March 2), Penn State (March 3), Syracuse (March 4), Ole Miss (March 5), Auburn (March 8), Southern Cal (June 28), Florida (June 29) and UCLA (July 2).
EVALUTION
On tape, Ekiyor competes without flat footed traits and is light on his feet instead. Rare skills for an offensive lineman listed at 6’3″ and 325 pounds, which allows the junior to spend time at center for Cathedral’s basketball team. A natural fit at the interior of the line of scrimmage with skills that apply to the offensive tackle position as well.
