Following a 2014-15 campaign which Cole Eisel desrcibed as, “the worst in program history”, the LSM/D aided Oaks Christian boy’s lacrosse to more than a turnaround campaign.
Instead, it was the Lions’ best yet.
“This past season was really great,” Eisel said. “We got a new coach and director of lacrosse, and it changed the whole attitude and face of the program.”
Oaks Christian ended 2015-16 producing the most wins in school history, which was capped off with the program’s first playoff victory as well as first home win in the post-season. Now, as his high school career has come to an end, Eisel will look to begin a college experience with High Point University in High Point, NC.
What are your thoughts about the schools you visited? With the schools I saw it made my decision really difficult. A lot of the schools I saw were so similar and will provide me everything I am looking for out of my college experience academically, athletically, and socially.
Which position on the field do you believe will fit you best in college? I believe my natural position of long stick midfielder would fit me best in college because it allows me to make up for my lack of size with my speed.
What type of major do you plan to study in college? I plan on majoring in International Business.
Which factors went into deciding that High Point University was the best fit for you? I fell in love with the campus, when I first visited last spring break, and the more I learned about the school, and talked to people that attend the school, the more I could see myself being able to grow and develop into the person I want to be there.
Where do you need to make the biggest improvement in your game? I think the biggest areas I need to improve my game are evaluating unsettled areas of the game and how to diagnose them properly, and being able to direct other people on the defense where they need to be at all times.
What kind of offseason training have you been involved in? I’ve been working out with my high school’s strength and conditioning and my own personal trainer just trying to get a little extra size before college, while still maintaining my speed.
